Haad Yao guide - picturesque beach with awesome sunsets

The resort is well-equipped to keep the vast majority of tourists happy with a smattering of supermarkets, a snooker hall and lots of chilled viewpoint bars in which to sink a beer or three.

A little further up the coast one can find Haad Thian and Haad Kruad, which are secluded coves that lack the amenities of Haad Yao but boast lovely simple shacks right on the beach.  The beautiful landscape, teeming coral reefs and overhanging jungle makes the area perfect for all holidaymakers to Koh Phangan. Haad Mae Haad and Koh Ma are just a little farther north and areal paradise on the edge of Koh Phangan's Marine Park.

Turtles can often be spotted here as well as small reef sharks and a kaeladscope of bright colourful fish. There are trekking paths through the nearby jungle including to impressive Wang Sai Waterfall. Songthaews ply the route or you can take longtail boasts around the nearby bays.
